Confidentiality and Privacy Statement

ABA Advice Beyond Accounting is committed to following the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) of 1988 to protect the personal information (PI) that you provide to us.

 

As part of our confidentiality and privacy statement we have a summary of how we may use your personal information:

Information you provide

  • Personal information that you provide to us is used to respond to your request and provide you with a range of accounting and bookkeeping services. The scope and type of information we require depends on the enquiry you have made and the services that you need us to perform on your behalf.

  • By submitting a contact form with your personal details via the ABA Advice Beyond Accounting website, you are agreeing to share your personal information with us. You are also consenting for us to use any personal information to complete a range of accounting and bookkeeping services for you. These may include but are not limited to, initial assessments in order to provide a quote for our services. You are also consenting to receive communications from us that may include marketing information. You can opt out of these communications at any time by emailing your request to admin@abaadvice.com.au

  • Your personal information will not be disclosed to third parties, except:

    • Unless this information is required in order to execute your requests​

    • Unless you have consented to the disclosure

    • The third party is acting as our contractor or agent, and we will only disclose personal information to them for the purpose for which it was collected and the services they perform

    • The third party is involved or required in order to complete your requests. These third parties may include, but are not limited to, the ATO, financial planners, auditors, mortgage brokers, lawyers and insurance agents.

    • There are reasonable grounds for ABA Advice Beyond Accounting to make the disclosure to reduce or prevent a threat to your life and health, or that of another person

    • Disclosure is necessary to exercise a legal claim or defence

    • Disclosure is required under or by the law 

  • Limiting the extent and accuracy of the personal information you disclose to us may limit our ability to provide with accurate quotes for our services and advice relating to your accounting, bookkeeping, QBCC, tax planning and associated matters.​

  • The above points may not fully represent all the circumstances where your personal information may need to be disclosed to comply with your requests.

We have an ethical duty of confidentiality and privacy to not share or disclose your details except as noted above, without your consent.


Request access to your personal information

You may request access to your personal information by contacting us in writing at admin@abaadvice.com.au and providing the details of the information or documentation that you would like to see.

Please be aware that there are some circumstances in which we do not have to provide you with information that you may request. This is the same as certain Government departments or institutions that may reserve the right not to provide some particular information about you when requested.

Changing your personal information

Should your personal information change, please advise us as soon as possible so that we can update your records. 

Email communication

When we send an email:​

  •  If you are not the intended recipient and you have received an email from us in error then any use, dissemination, forwarding, printing, or copying of the email and its file attachments is prohibited. Please notify ABA Advice Beyond Accounting immediately by reply email, delete the misdirected email from your system; and destroy any copies you have made of it.

  • Any views expressed in emails that we send are the views of the sender, unless they are specifically stated to be the views of ABA Advice Beyond Accounting. Before opening or using emails and attachments we have sent, please scan them for viruses and defects. We do not accept any liability for loss or damage which may arise from your receipt of our emails. Our liability is limited to resupplying any affected attachments.
